Moda Lisboa – 6th October – Maria Gambinas

Maria Gambinas collection was sport luxe at its best. Starting with a white and neon pink slouchy jumper layered over a nude skirt the collection began well. From here came cut outs, fabulous dip dyed fabrics and a splatter motif that was even created beautifully in knit. Nude, white, neon pink and peacock blues and greens were the main colours and accented each other beautifully. The backless dresses with half zipped slits kept up the sporty slouchy look while structure was built around the hips and shoulders with wide cape sleeves. Loose hanging tshirts tunics in striped print trailed low at the back over turned up city shorts and wide trousers. The men wore short shorts with a variety of sporty looking jackets and tops, mainly undone and displaying many a toned bod beneath.

Leather and metallics featured strongly with the collection closing with white and sea green opalescent fabrics and also throwing in sheer black crochet with the same metallic flashes.

It was lovely to see some colour in a collection after so much classy palettes of nude and navy!  This mixed boyish, androgynous themes with girly pleats and sassy skirts.
