Shooting with Girl Dave - Burnt out building, dirt and bunchies.

On Monday I took a little trip to another burnt out abandoned house to shoot a pink haired, pole dancing beauty with fantastic legs and a great attitude. The whole shoot only lasted 2 hours with 3 looks.

Look 1
Dirty Glamour :

Dorothy Perkins 80’s Vintage dress, Vintage rosary, ASOS & other jewelry with Carvella heels.

Look 2
Skiving Skool

Anne Summers corset bra, Corset Art underbust corset, Boohoo over skirt, vintage underskirt, ripped reworked tights, Carvella heels, Anne Summers bondage cuffs

Look 3
Drama

Anne Summers Corset Bra, Corset Art lightening Corset, Carvella shoes, ribbon ties

This was an afternoon of fun after breaking into an abandoned building, dodging anti climbing paint, lift shafts and broken glass.
Girl Dave (Laura) is a model signed to UGLY/RAGE
Thanks to Jimmy Stewart for showing us the way to the warehouse.

Cannes Red Carpet Fashion Finds and Fails

Cannes Red Carpet Fashion Finds and Fails

Angelina Jolie stole the show dressed in a heavy satin Versace Atelier dress dress split to the thigh. Althought the top bandeau didn’t fit her as well as it could hae done she looked stunning next to her slightly shabby looking hubby Brad Pitt – I don’t know what that beards meant to be saying for him...
Verdict : Stunning

Gwen Stefani looked incredibly chic in a sequined jumpsuit that flattered her figure and was a far cry from her strange past get ups...
Verdict : Gorgeous

Zoe Saldana's red and white Armani dress has been raved about but the big structured hips, thigh split and plain bandeau all look rather tacky... however her Nicholas Kirkwood shoes were simple and gorgeous!
Verdict : Totally average

Jessica Chastain managed to pull of lemon yellow on the red carpet, the dress beautifully detailed, flattered her figure and complimented her skin tone.
Verdict : Gorgeous

Look 1
Look 2

Cheryl Cole looked divine in a Stephane Rolland white dress with her usually crazy hair slicked back into a low pony tail. Sadly she ruined this stunning look when she pulled this mental fishtail outfit out of the wardrobe – the block of white sequin that swamped and widened her petite frame and was a total style fail.
Verdict Look 1 : Stunning
Verdict Look 2 : Hideous

Sarah Jessica Parker rocked up in a gorgeous Ellie Saab maxi dress that although beautiful didn’t match the red carpet surroundings with its boho edge, her after party white frock with crochet and lace flower detail went down considerably better.
Verdict : Average

Penelope Cruz’s red carpet dress with its soft blue/lilac lace froth looked like she’d pulled it from the Pirate of the Caribbean costume wardrobe and although the crystal encrusted uderdress was stunning the swathes of fluffy net ruined the look slightly, event ripping the lace of the shoulders would have been a vast improvement.
Verdict : Gross

Diane Krugers all gold dress was simple and absoltutely stunning. Less is more – you go girl!
Verdict : Stunning

Elizabeth Olsens skirt, baggy sequin top combo looked like something she’d found in a charity shop and customised with a thigh split and the shoes were pretty drab too. Although the 20’s theme is obvious it doesn’t come through as well as hoped.
Verdict : Totally average

Emily Browning wore a vintage look lace layered dress that was absolutely gorgeous, a little boho but glamourous enough to work the red carpet.
Verdict : Gorgeous

Rachel McAdams went for a trouser and bustier combination shunning the floorlength gown dress code. Her gold sequined bustier was incredibly flattering as were her sand straight leg trousers.
Verdict : Gorgeous

Hofit Golans magenta prom dress looked hideously tacky, especially with her suspiciously round bosoms perching just in the dress cups.
Verdict : Hideous

Jane Fonda looked amazing in white and gold, showing the youngsters that she’s still got it! This fishtail dress was a little reminiscent of Pippa Middleton’s recent bridesmaid gown that attracted attention (mainly from teenage boys).  Her dress was superbly styled with a gold sparkling clutch and shoes.
Verdict: Gorgeous

Vanessa Hudgens has been caught is a few unattractive outfits recently and this was another one – this putrid yellow textured dress was too bright and not enough of anything else.
Verdict : Gross

Aishwarya Rai Bachman’s two tone minimal dress was spot on! Both flattering and classy this gown looked great with a chic up do.
Verdict : Gorgeous

Well... I think that's enough cruelty for now...

Monnari, Lukaz Jeminol & Bohoboco

Monnari
Monnari is a large highstreet brand in Poland similar to the Hexeline show the day before.
This collection opens with the face of the brand, an older lady with a slightly curvy physique, she is a Polish TV star and looks good on the catwalk but looks better in the highstreet campaign...

This collection used some stunning feather based prints in deep jewel colours as well as pinstripes, tassels and layers of girly ruffles.
The prints were slightly psychedelic and made for interesting viewing.  This then turned to very wearable creams, jewel blues, greens and purples.
Fur features in outwear that is fastened with doubled belts as were chunky knit cardigans and shorted cropped jackets. The show finishes with metallic bronzes and gold with full feminine skirts in line with the curvy friendly silhouettes.

Lukaz Jeminol

Sitting down in this show I realize I have sat in front of the dry ice machine… the catwalk has been prepared with metal piping and industrial leftovers.

The collection begins with light dresses in muted bronze accessorized with grey. Beautiful draping graced the catwalk with splashes of block colour. Shift dresses were simple and stopped around the knee. Outwear was functional and featured exposed zips and had a grunge edge. There were a few mini-capes that zipped up the throat and dropped to the chest.

The menswear also featured the draping like the women’s wear in grey, cream and navy.

The models stayed on the runway after showing and created a frozen tableau in the space. The show received a great reaction and was overall an impressive collection.

Bohoboco
Bohoboco is another collection featuring beautiful maxi dresses but this time made from soft wool. The dresses have wide sleeves, shorter fronts and are layered over satin shirts.

Dresses with high collars are layered with the knitwear as well as muted outerwear. Stunning grey rough knit is draped in beautiful cowl neck maxi dresses.

Tasseling is used to create layered fluid tops and mixed with sheer white tops and a touch of velvet.

So much of the collection featured maxi lines including gorgeous high waisted skirts and coats.
The collection balances smart work wear and more casual clothing as well.

Zuo Corp, Joanna Klimas &Ewa Zosieradzka

Zuo Corp
This show starts with the ringing of bells and the super conservative nun based show begins.
The collection is mainly made up of black knee length suit dresses worn with structured habit hoods. There was a splash of a salmon print and also lemon gold. The silhouettes were streamlined yet feminine despite the androgynous tailoring.

The collection sadly lasted far too long and the constant bell ringing became jarring. At the end of the collection a model came out in a black catsuit waving a polish flag and skipping down the runway followed by the post office marching band. This raised a standing ovation from the crowd and rescued the samey show. The collection was functional and sellable but needed the spurt of energy at the end.

Joanna Klimas
This collection opens with black wide leg crepe trousers that are gorgeous and teamed with an open leather jacket – very obviously a winter collection, however this changed as sheer fabrics were featured more and more.

I loved the leather lampshade crop tops and dresses with leather lapels and piping.  The colours morphed from black to grey then through silver and gold to pop turquoise and white. Although the sheer maxis were gorgeous looking they seem very spring/summer. The ast piece was a white maxi complete with a slightly bridal train.

Ewa Zosieradzka

Finally an upbeat performance show! Edging away from the dark performances that we saw in  the off schedule shows the models skipped and pirouetted down the run way wearing black with mustard yellow outerwear. This collection was very young and fresh with 50’s silhouettes and styled with school girl charm and glasses. Was good to see such a wintery collection whilst remaining so upbeat.
