Mark Fast AW11

The queues for Mark Fast were INSANE! Hundreds of people were turned away from the show and were left standing in the cold watching it on the big screen in the Somerset House courtyard.
The collection begins with an-off white coat, with a tied belt nipping this in at the waist and huge cotton wool like ruffles across the shoulders creating a strange silhouette. This off white theme continues with cropped jackets and body-con dresses with ruffle details and tiny circle cut outs.            The tight skirt is subtly ribbed, creating even more texture. Another weird wonder is a fishtail maxi dress, seemingly dragged down by the huge fluffy skirt. The white turns to black leather in a dark turn and we see mac-like coats, trouser and top combos, shift dresses and also a bikini. A leather jacket is then layered over a loose knit, see through black dress and the earlier fluffy fabrics return in black accessorized with black fur hats that cover the models eyes. Colour returns in the form of a red pleated, structured cardigan showing exciting skill with knitwear and structure, followed by two all over orange knitted dresses. Bondage black leather finishes the show getting more and more creative with cut outs, crochet and flashes of flesh until the finale piece – a long, hooded, black, backless, leather coat with a train – this dark finale was gorgeous and a great final piece for a great collection.

Much Love
